Hotel O. Setouchi
A Scenery Yet Unseen in Setouchi.
"Hotel O. Setouchi," Born from the Choice of Spanish Colonial Style.
"Hotel O. Setouchi" is a hotel newly established near the Seto Inland Sea in Kanonji City, Kagawa Prefecture.
This is the first new hotel construction project undertaken by Sanuki Renga Co., Ltd., a company with a proven track record in operating spa facilities, glamping sites, and villas.
In this project, ANDas comprehensively handled everything from planning, architectural design, and interior design to FF&E (furniture works) and signage planning.
From October 2024 to May 2025, we aimed to perfectly balance the regional characteristics of Setouchi with a new hotel experience.

Comprehensive Strength in Space Creation
to Support a New Challenge in the Hotel Business. This project was initiated through an introduction from a glamping-related company.
Although the client had experience operating accommodation-like businesses, they sought a partner who could expertly support "space creation for the hotel industry."
Rather than facing a specific isolated issue, they needed a presence capable of comprehensively evaluating and materializing the following:- The presence and atmosphere of a hotel
- Design precision for a space intended for long-term use
- A design that establishes the brand
-
Concept
-
A "Spanish Colonial" Worldview
That Resonates with the Sensibilities of the Younger Generation.Given its location near the Seto Inland Sea and its primary target audience of young adults around 28 years old, we established "Spanish Colonial" as the central axis for the entire space in this project.
The name "Hotel O." embodies keywords starting with 'O' in Japanese: Oniwa (Garden), Osoto (Outdoors), and Ofuro (Bath).
Going beyond mere visual design, the concept ensures that the sensation of connecting with the outdoors and the relaxing margins to simply enjoy the stay are naturally conveyed.
Centering on this experience, we carefully built the concept from the planning stage.

― Planning & Design
Interior and FF&E That Stand Out
Precisely Because of Their Simplicity. What we kept in mind for the interior design was ensuring the space does not speak too loudly. Without relying on flashy decorations, we quietly brought out the space's personality through colors motifed after the landscapes and memories of Setouchi and Kagawa, combined with FF&E (furniture and fixtures).
The guest rooms consist of five types themed around famous spots in Setouchi and Kagawa. We incorporated the imagery of each locale into the color scheme—such as the green reminiscent of the pine forest in Kotohiki Park, the calm blue of the Hiuchi-nada Sea, and the orange reflecting the sunset at Ariake Beach.
Another characteristic feature is that all rooms come with a wood deck facing the garden. Gently connecting the indoors and outdoors, the design allows guests to naturally experience the "Garden" and "Outdoors" themes of Hotel O.
A quiet, memorable accommodation experience born from the overlapping of the interior, FF&E, and the outside scenery.
The foundation of this is our "design by subtraction."
ー Construction
Coordination Skills to Protect the Design Vision.
During the construction phase, coordination with designers and contractors was a critical point.
While facing regulations, costs, and on-site conditions, we consistently made decisions prioritizing the preservation of the original design intent.
Through organizing priorities and considering alternatives, we protected the design intent to the very end while balancing quality and cost.

Achieving High Customer Satisfaction
as a Space Where Guests Can Feel "Regional Characteristics."After completion, the hotel's design quality and brand image were significantly enhanced.
We received praise from the client, who noted, "While few companies can handle both design and FF&E together, they pulled it together exceptionally well."
Sales have been strong since the opening, and sparked by this success, ANDas is already participating in their next project.

What we paid special attention to was the sense of distance
when "gathering around the fire" at the campfire in the courtyard.
To ensure the time spent at this hotel remains a special memory,
we carefully crafted it as the center of the space.
